Modern dating is its own new world. This series follows the musings of an insecure, self-aware 30-something woman taking on romance.
In 2020, I joined forces with Amerikana Media to write, produce and star in 3 episodes of The Disastrous Dating Life of Diane Damone. Created by Joseph Patrick Conroy, the original series follows a manic, loving, 30-something as she tries to find love (or whatever she can get) in New York City.
The stories are hyperbolized versions of true dating experiences of myself and Laurie Roma, Joe’s childhood friend. From cat-fishing to narcissists and clingy Moms and more, Diane represented every Millennial woman’s relatable jumps in and out of situationships.
Despite the challenges of a global pandemic and a near-nonexistent budget working against us, our team pushed through with an independent release and soon garnered the attention of Los Angeles-based production company and distribution firm, Viva Film Co.
We re-entered production to complete season 1 and in April 2022 the series exclusively premiered on Tubi.
